I get that you can be hit by surprise sometimes, but if you find that hard to dodge, then I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to even parry a Raider's Fury. The animation is slow and the move is predictable, dodging shouldn't even be your main concern if you think the timing's too tight.

Spear sweep is always dodgeable (except when hitting a wall or after a backthrow), and the timing is pretty large, it's way easier to dodge than warden's charge (as a follow-up) for example. If you try to focus on the grab you lose the frame to dodge, you dodge a good Valk will just grab you instead because it traces you all the way.
